Insurance
All students registered at BOKU have accident and liability insurance.
If you are an Erasmus scholarship holder, you will receive health insurance free of charge that meets the requirements of the Erasmus Mundus programme and those for studying in Austria..
Students who need to apply for an Austrian residence permit can also receive additional insurance that covers all risks (only required for the Austrian residence permit) – please contact: emplant@boku.ac.at
Bank account
Most banks offer free bank accounts for students.
To open an account, you will typically need your passport, your student I.D., and your confirmation of registration (Meldebestätigung). Students older than 25 may also be required to provide proof of university enrollment (“Studienbestätigung”).
